Meet the Team: Kevin Hampton

This week on our series of meet the team videos we host Associate, Kevin Hampton. Based out of our Eastbourne office Kevin gives advice on mortgages & protection and is in the process of studying for his equity release exam.

What led you to a career in financial services?
For many years I worked in the family business doing house removals but after a while developed back pain so I needed to change careers. I always loved helping people with the house moving process so the mortgage industry was a natural step for me.

What are the best parts of your job?
The favourite part of my job is meeting new people and helping them achieve their financial goals.

What is the most annoying part of your job?
Lenders and dealing with their strict criteria’s.

What’s your favorite thing about working with Sentry Advice?
It’s to be a part of a really focused and driven company, I’m surrounded by great people and the support is great.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a town called Seaford, in-between Brighton and Eastbourne down on the south coast.

Which superhero do you relate most to?
Aquaman because I love the sea and being an ex-diving instructor the ocean use to be my office.

What was the proudest moment of your life?
Marrying my wife, seeing her walk down the isle was pretty amazing.

Can you play any instruments?
I can play the piano but the only song I can play anymore is the Fur Elise so when ever I see a piano I have a little play.

What was your childhood nickname?
‘Brow’ because I had a uni-brow at school haha!

Favourite Film?
Ladder 49, I use to be a firefighter so I find the film very inspirational.
