Meet the Team: Maurice Horlock
This episode of meet the team we meet the newest member of the Sentry Advice family, Maurice Horlock. Maurice joins us as a Lifetime Mortgage Adviser bringing with him a wealth of financial services experience.
What led you to a career in financial services?
I sort of fell into Financial Services, a lot of my friends we’re working in insurance and I had said to myself I wouldn’t follow but after seeing an advert in the paper I was sold. Once I started I loved it and made a full career out of it.
What are the best parts of your job?
I love to meet people. Being able to meet new people and learn about them and their goals and ultimately making their financial lives better.
What is the most annoying part of your job?
Paper work, paper work, paper work!.. Fortunately Sentry Advice run a modern and paperless office so their processes are much more efficient to what I have been use to before.
What’s your favorite thing about working with Sentry Advice?
The energy in the office is very contagious. Everyone is working hard for their clients and wants the business to succeed and I’m so happy to be a part of that.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in South Croydon which was a lovely place with lots of open spaces and forests but I always knew I wanted to live by the sea side.
Which superhero do you relate most to?
He’s not a Spider-Man or Superman but he is a super hero to me and that is Winston Churchill.
What was the proudest moment of your life?
The proudest moment of my life would be marrying my amazing wife! Followed closely by my Daughter receiving her wings for Virgin Airways.
Can you play any instruments?
I can, I can play my golf club… it sings whenever I hit it right!
