This legal notice applies to the entire contents of the Website under the domain name www.sentryadvice.co.uk (“Website”) and to any correspondence by e-mail between us and you. Please read these terms carefully before using the Website.
PART 1: TERMS OF USE
Using the Website indicates that you accept these terms regardless of whether or not you choose to register with us. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the Website. This notice is issued by Sentry Advice Limited (“Company”).
- Introduction
- You may access many areas of the Website without registering your details with us. However, certain areas of the Website are only open to you if you are a Sentry Advice client or introducer.
- By accessing any part of the Website, you shall be deemed to have accepted this legal notice in full. If you do not accept this legal notice in full, you must leave the Website immediately.
- The Company may revise this legal notice at any time by updating this posting. You should check the Website from time to time to review the then current legal notice, because it is binding on you. Certain provisions of this legal notice may be superseded by expressly designated legal notices or terms located on particular pages at the Website.
- Licence
- You are permitted to print and download extracts from the Website for your own use on the following basis:
- no documents or related graphics on the Website are modified in any way;
- no graphics on the Website are used separately from the corresponding text; and
- the Company’s copyright and trade mark notices and this permission notice appear in all copies.

- While the Company endeavours to ensure that the Website is normally available 24 hours a day, the Company shall not be liable if for any reason the Website is unavailable at any time or for any period.
- Access to the Website may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons beyond the Company’s control.
- Visitor material and conduct
- Other than personally identifiable information, which is covered under our Privacy Policy (see “Part 2: Privacy Policy” below), any material you transmit or post to the Website shall be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. The Company shall have no obligations with respect to such material. - You may not misuse the Website (including, without limitation, by hacking).
- The Company shall fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing the Company to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting any material in breach of clause 4.2 or clause 4.3.
- Links to and from other websites
- Links to third party websites on the Website are provided solely for your convenience. If you use these links, you leave the Website. The Company has not reviewed all of these third party websites and does not control and is not responsible for these websites or their content or availability. The Company therefore does not endorse or make any representations about them, or any material found there, or any results that may be obtained from using them. If you decide to access any of the third party websites linked to the Website, you do so entirely at your own risk.
- If you would like to create a link to the Website, you may only do so on the basis that you link to, but do not replicate, the home page of the Website, and subject to the following conditions:
- you do not remove, distort or otherwise alter the size or appearance of the Company logo;
- you do not create a frame or any other browser or border environment around the Website;
- you do not in any way imply that the Company is endorsing any products or services other than its own;

- your website does not contain content that is distasteful, offensive or controversial, infringes any intellectual property rights or other rights of any other person or otherwise does not comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- The Company expressly reserves the right to revoke the right granted in clause 5.2 for breach of these terms and to take any action it deems appropriate.
- You shall fully indemnify the Company for any loss or damage suffered by the Company or any of its group companies for breach of clause 5.2.
- Registration
- Each registration is for a single user only. The Company does not permit you to share your user name and password with any other person nor with multiple users on a network.
- Responsibility for the security of any passwords issued rests with you.
- Use of your personal data following registration will be in accordance with our Privacy Policy (see “Part 2: Privacy Policy” below).
- Disclaimer
- While the Company endeavours to ensure that the information on the Website is correct, the Company does not warrant the accuracy and completeness of the material on the Website. The Company may make changes to the material on the Website, or to the products and prices described in it, at any time without notice. The material on the Website may be out of date, and the Company makes no commitment to update such material.

- If your use of material on the Website results in the need for servicing, repair or correction of equipment, software or data, you assume all costs thereof.
- Governing law and jurisdiction
This legal notice shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Disputes arising in connection with this legal notice shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
PART 2: PRIVACY POLICY
For the purposes of this Privacy Notice, Sentry Advice Limited (‘Sentry Advice’) is a data controller as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is because Sentry Advice may in some cases determine how your personal information will be used. By personal information, we mean information which, either by itself or combined with other information that is available to us, can be used to identify you, your principals, directors, shareholders or anyone employed by you or engaged by you who may access our online systems. For the purpose of this Privacy Notice, where we refer to “you” or “your” this will also include your principals, directors, shareholders, employees, contractors and workers.
We use your information to provide you with a quote, to process your application and for marketing purposes. We will treat all your information as private and confidential except where we are permitted to disclose your information by law, or where the disclosure is made at your request, or is made with your consent in relation to arranging your loan or mortgage. Where necessary to process your application, your data will be shared with third parties such as the lender, your mortgage provider, joint applicants and credit reference agencies.

The information we collect
Personal Information
We only collect personal data relevant to making a loan application. Such personal data is given directly by you and by people or companies authorised by you to act on your behalf, and it may also include information obtained from those third parties authorised by you to share such information with us, including:
- Your title, full name, your contact details – including your email address, home and mobile telephone numbers;
- Your home address and address history, together with information about your occupier status;
- Your date of birth;
- Your occupation, job title and employment details;
- Identification; which could include your passport details or driving licence reference number;
- Financial situation and financial history, including any County Court Judgements or arrears on other credit.
Data collected from third party sources includes
- Land Registry
- Companies House
- Credit Referencing Agencies (Experian, Equifax and Call Credit)
Information from Credit Referencing Agencies will include your financial situation and financial history, including public information from the electoral register.
We will need this information to;
- Verify the accuracy of the information you have provided us with and
- Prevent criminal activity, fraud and money laundering

Why we need your data?
We will only collect and use your personal information in accordance with data protection laws for the purpose of facilitating your mortgage or credit application. Our grounds for processing your personal information are as follows:
Consent – Where necessary we will only collect and process your personal information if you have given your consent for us to do so.
For the purposes of our own Legitimate Interests – We may use and process some of your personal information where we have sensible and legitimate business grounds for doing so. Our grounds for processing your personal information are as follows:
- To communicate with you about your loan application. Being a client of Sentry Advice, we will need to keep you informed about your application throughout via various communication means, including email. This won’t include marketing communications unless you have given us your consent to receive these.
- For the Management of our own accounting and other business operations;
- To monitor emails, calls and other communications for the processing of your application;
- To respond to case enquires or grievances / complaints
- To notify you about changes to our terms or privacy policy
- Developing statistics for market research and ongoing analysis to improve our website, product / services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences;
- To deal with our good governance requirements
For the purposes of future marketing under Consent – You will be asked for your Consent to receive communications from Sentry Advice in relation to our services and products. We will never sell or pass your details onto third parties.
Where we store your personal data
We currently only store data within the European Economic Area (“EEA”). We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Once we have received your personal data, we will use (and require our suppliers and partners to use) procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access, unlawful processing, accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to it. However, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure and, while we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our service and any transmission is at your own risk.
How long we keep your data
Unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, we will only hold your personal information on our systems for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or until you request it is deleted.
You will be asked whether you consent to your information being used for marketing purposes. If you consent, the information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

- If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply any agreements to which you are a party; or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our customers or others (which includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction);
- In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or
- If substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets;
Your rights
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you, its origin and any recipients of it as well as the purpose of any data processing carried out.

- Right to correct: the right to have your personal information rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Right to erase: the right to request that we delete or remove your personal information from our systems;

We will aim to respond to all requests within 30 days except in instances where the request may be complex. We shall let you know within the 30-day period if we will need more time but no longer than 90 days.
